
Wartburg College's (Iowa) Andy Hodge set
a J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium record as he took the
title in the men's 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:46.89
at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship
on Saturday (May 24). It was the first title for Wartburg
College in the event's history.
Second-place went to Mack Chaffee of Williams
College (Mass.) at 3:47.43, followed by Elmhurst College's
(Ill.) Brian McConnell in a time of 3:48.02 for a top-three
showing.
In fourth-position was Jimmy O'Brien of
Ohio Northern University at 3:48.45, followed by Michael
Hardbarger of Rochester Institute of Technology (N.Y.) in
fifth with a time of 3:49.36.
State University of New York-Cortland's
Justin Wager took sixth-place at 3:50.74, while teammate
Niko Viglione came in seventh-place in a time of 3:52.33.
Eighth-place went to Lynchburg College's (Va.) Travis Wray
in a time of 3:52.37.
