Men's 400-Meter Relay

McMurry University (Texas) pulled away to win its second consecutive men's 400-meter relay on Saturday (May 24) with a time of 40.54 at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship.  The same quartet of Chris Kelley, John Mikalik, Bert Green and Hanneus Ollison won the title in 2007 with a time of 40.51.

Nebraska Wesleyan University's team of Dan Bittner, Matt Glasnapp, Austin Novotny and Andy Coppersmith took second place with a mark of 40.77.  Christopher Newport University (Va.) followed closely in the third position at 40.78 with the foursome of Matthew Griffis, Charles Washington, Greg Jones and Leroy Harper Jr.

Fourth place went to Illinois Wesleyan University with a time of 41.09, Ramapo College (N.J.) came in fifth place at 41.21 and New Jersey City University took sixth with a time of 41.22.

Rounding out the top eight were seventh-place University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in a time of 41.23 and State University of New York-Cortland in eighth place in a time of 41.71.
