
Peter Kosgei of Hamilton College (N.Y.)
sprinted away from a seven-man pack on his way to the title
in a time of 14:32.57 in the men's 5,000-meter run on Saturday
(May 24) at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field
Championship. Kosgei also won the 3,000-meter steeplechase
on Friday (May 23).
Chris Erichsen from St. John's University
(Minn.) came in second place at 14:35.34 and Tyler Sigl
from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville took third
place with a mark of 14:37.69.
Earning fourth place was Allegheny College's
(Pa.) Ryan Place in 14:38.14, followed by Wartburg College's
(Iowa) Brian Chenoweth at 14:39.01 and Brandon Mull from
Wheaton College (Ill.) in sixth place with a mark of 14:40.08.
Rounding out the All-Americans were seventh-place
Kevin Balster of Wartburg College (Iowa) at 14:41.45 and
New York University's Hany Abdallah in eighth place with
a time of 14:46.01.
