Men's Decathlon

Beresford Brown of Moravian College (Pa.) didn't let go of his first day lead in the decathlon and held on to capture the national title with a NCAA Division III season-best 7,192 points at the Outdoor Track and Field Championship. He is the first student-athlete in school history to win the decathlon. Brown took first in four events in the two-day competition, winning the 100-meter dash, 110-meter hurdles, long jump and high jump.

University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point's Kyle Steiner landed in second place in the decathlon for the second straight year, finishing with 7,126 points. He won the 400-meter run and 1,500-meter run. Linfield College's (Ore.) Josh Lovell settled for a third-place result with 6,675 points. He was 13th a year ago.

Elizabethtown College's (Pa.) Kevin Clark finished in fourth place with 6,608 points while Washington University's (Mo.) Ben Harmon finished in fifth with 6,475 and Linfield College's Jeremy Lovell in sixth place with 6,459. Jeremy Lovell earned his second straight All-America honor after finishing in eighth place in 2007 and joined twin brother Josh on the podium this year.

Also earning All-America honors were Ryan Pittman of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (Calif.) who tallied a seventh-place result with 6,266 points and James Spaulding of the University of Southern Maine, who captured eighth place with 6,264.
