Men's Long Jump

University of Redlands' (Calif.) Francis Nugent took his first career long jump national title with a winning mark of 23-6 3/4 at the NCAA DIvision III Outdoor Track and Field Championship. He becomes the first student-athlete in school history to win the long jump.

McMurry University's (Texas) Hanneus Ollison finished in second-place Thursday (May 22) at 23-6. Ollison entered the meet with the top mark.

Matthew Booth of Juniata College (Pa.) finished in third place with a mark of 23-4, while freshman Kurtis Brondyke of Central College (Iowa) was in the fourth position with a leap of 23-1 3/4 and Erik Diley of St. John's University (Minn.) finished in fifth place with a jump of 22-11 3/4. It marks the second straight year Diley finished in fifth place in the long jump.

Others earning All-America honors included Buena Vista University's (Iowa) Eric Bertelsen with a sixth-place finish of 22-10, Rowan University's (N.J.) Kyle Hayes' seventh-place mark of 22-8 and University of St. Thomas' (Minn.) P.J. Theisen eighth-place position of 22-7 1/4.
