
Illinois Wesleyan University standout Rachel Anderson made it two double-event championship winners Saturday (May 24) at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
Anderson, winning the 200-meter dash in 24.76 seconds, completed the sweep of the 200 and 400-meter events. She joined University of Wisconsin-Platteville Marcia Taddy who earlier swept the 800 and 1,500-meter runs.
Anderson held off a strong charge from Roanoke College's (Va.) Robin Yerkes who captured second-place in a time 24.87.
The Titans picked up a total of 16 team points in the event, as Ali McCoy took third-place in a time of 24.88. State University of New York-Buffalo State's LaToya Edwards nabbed fourth-place in a time of 25.03 and Capital University's (Ohio) Jessica Starks gathered fifth-place in a time of 25.04 to round out the top-five.
Also gaining All-American status were Jodyann Raymond of the City College of New York in a sixth-place time of 25.09, Brooke Bell of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in a seventh-place time of 25.17 and Stephanie Omueti of the University of Chicago (Ill.) in an eighth-place time of 25.20.
