Women's 400-Meter Hurdles

Calvin College's (Mich.) Sara Wittingen improved one more spot from her 2007 finish in the women’s 400-meter hurdles Saturday (May 24) at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship.

Wittingen, second a year ago, placed herself at the top of the awards stand with a strong finish to clock a 59.39 second-outing. Her time was a NCAA Division III season’s best and J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium record.

Frostburg State University's (Md.) Sumer Rohrs, trying for the 100 and 400-meter hurdles sweep, finished in second-place in a time of 1:00.71.

Pacific Lutheran University's (Wash.) Faven Araya tallied third-place in a time of 1:01.21, Earlham College's (Ind.) Sara Bohall took fourth-place in a time of 101.35 and University of Wisconsin-River Falls' Shannon Zwiefel ended fifth-place in a time of 101.85.

Rounding out the All-Americans were Izzy Alexander of Bates College (Maine) in a sixth-place time of 1:01.91, Liz Faller of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in a seventh-place time of 1:02.00 and Mae Winchester of the University of Mary Washington (Va.) in an eighth-place time of 1:02.35.
