Three NCAA Division III season-best times came out of the finals of the women's 400-meter relay Saturday (May 24) at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
Texas Lutheran University and Roanoke College (Va.), a pair of top-three finishers at last year's national meet, battled to the finish line with Illinois Wesleyan University. Texas Lutheran University's time of 46.42 held off Roanoke College's mark of 46.54 for the national title with Illinois Wesleyan University trailing closely for third-place in a time of 46.62.
Wartburg College (Iowa) made a strong move on the final leg for fourth-place, ending in a time of 46.93 and State University of New York-Buffalo State took fifth-place in a time of 47.19.
Gaining All-American status were University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in a sixth-place time of 47.22, Cabrini College (Pa.) in a seventh-place mark of 47.51 and Capital University (Ohio) in an eighth-place result of 47.62. |
