Women's 5,000-Meter Run

UW-River Falls freshman Becca Jordahl continued the impressive showing by the Falcons at the 2008 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Jordahl, a two-time All-American this weekend after taking third in the 10,000-meter run, used a strong kick in the final 300 meters to race past the lead pack and win the 5,000-meter run in a time of 16:52.49.

Tufts University (Mass.) senior Catherine Beck also earned her second All-American award of the weekend, ending second in 16:54.54. Keene State College (N.H.) senior Jennifer Adams, who entered the event with the fastest qualifying time, took third in 16:54.79. It was the second All-American award of the weekend for Adams as well. She placed second in the 10,000-meter run.

Wartburg College (Iowa) sophomore Anna Kraayenbrink wound up fourth (16:55.8), and Washington & Lee University (Va.) junior Jessica Shaw placed fifth (16:56.78).
