A familiar name made its way to the top of the awards platform in the women’s 800-meter run Saturday (May 24) at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
University of Wisconsin-Platteville standout Marcia Taddy, already a champion in the 1500-meter run, completed a double win by capturing the 800-meter run in a J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium record time of 2:08.23. Following close behind was The College of New Jersey's Stephanie Herrick in second-place in a time of 2:08.42.
Rounding out the top-five finishes were Haverford College's (Pa.) Annick Lamar in third-place in a time of 2:09.27, Willamette University's (Ore.) Jordyn Smith in fourth-place in a time of 2:09.43 and University of Wisconsin-Platteville's Jessica Scott in fifth-place in a time of 2:10.43. Repeating All-Americans in the event were Taddy, Herrick, Lamar, and Smith.
Also taking All-American honors were Kristen Ballinger of Amherst College (Mass.) in a sixth-place time of 2:10.95, Erin Sprangers of the University of St. Thomas (Minn.) in a seventh-place time of 2:11.10 and Lauren Bergstrom of Calvin College (Mich.) in an eighth-place time of 2:11.38.
