Devine Captures Another WIAC Diver Of The Week Award

Phil DevineThe Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has named UW-Oshkosh's Phil Devine (Sr. • Winnebago, Ill.) as its Men's Diver of the Week for the fifth time this season and 15th overall. The award covered diving meets held Jan. 16-22.

Devine broke his own school record in the three-meter diving as UW-Oshkosh placed fourth at the Pointer Men's Swimming and Diving Invitational held Jan. 20-21 in Stevens Point.

Devine tallied a school-best 590.45 points to win the three-meter diving. His performance defeated second-place Andrew Janny of UW-La Crosse by more than 90 points. Janny had a score of 500.35.

Devine earned another first-place finish with his score of 541.50 in the one-meter diving. Justin Bublitz of UW-La Crosse ranked a distant second with a score of 434.30.

Host UW-Stevens Point won the four-team meet with 1,271.5 points, while UW-La Crosse finished second with 992. UW-Eau Claire placed third with 756 points and UW-Oshkosh fourth with 287.5.

Joey Clapp of UW-Stevens Point was named the WIAC's Men's Swimmer of the Week.

Devine Leads Titans At Pointer Invitational

Dalton AndersonPhil DevineTim KuckukPhil Devine (Sr. • Winnebago, Ill.) broke his own school record in the three-meter diving as UW-Oshkosh placed fourth at the Pointer Men's Swimming and Diving Invitational held Friday and Saturday (Jan. 20-21) in Stevens Point.

Host UW-Stevens Point won the four-team meet with 1,271.5 points, while UW-La Crosse finished second with 992. UW-Eau Claire placed third with 756 points and UW-Oshkosh fourth with 287.5.

Devine tallied a school-best 590.45 points to win the three-meter diving. His performance defeated second-place Andrew Janny of UW-La Crosse by more than 90 points. Janny had a score of 500.35.

Devine earned another first-place finish by winning the one-meter diving with a score of 541.50. Justin Bublitz of UW-La Crosse ranked a distant second with a score of 434.30.

Dalton Anderson (Jr. • Elkhorn) contributed three top-four results for UW-Oshkosh. Anderson swam to a winning 500-yard freestyle time of 4:55.6 and then added a third-place effort of 1:01.65 in the 100-yard breaststroke and a fourth-place performance of 22.45 in the 50-yard freestyle. Jacobson McDade of UW-Eau Claire finished second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:55.76.

The diving boards helped Tim Kuckuk (Jr. • Plymouth) post a pair of fifth-place scores. Kuckuk totaled 424.75 points at three meters and 408.45 at one meter.

UW-Oshkosh achieved another fifth-place finish in 400-yard freestyle relay, where Anderson, Eddie Dominguez (Jr. • Greendale), Zachary Hahn (Fr. • Hartford) and Ryan Ronayne (Jr. • Fond du Lac) registered a time of 3:20.08.

Anderson and Ronayne were also members of the Titans' seventh-place 200-yard medley relay squad. Evan DuVall (Fr. • Sussex) and Matt Engelhardt (Jr. • DeForest) joined them to finish in a time of 1:43.17.

UW-Oshkosh travels to Ripon College for a dual meet on Feb. 4.

Eagles Hold Off Titans

Dalton AndersonPhil DevineZachary HahnPhil Devine (Sr. • Winnebago, Ill.) accounted for two wins with his diving as UW-Oshkosh came up short in its bid to defeat the UW-La Crosse men's swimming and diving team on Saturday (Jan. 14) in La Crosse. The host Eagles won the dual meet by a 125-112 score.

Devine, a five-time NCAA Division III All-American, tallied 345.50 points to prevail in the three-meter diving and 328.60 to top the one-meter field.

UW-Oshkosh's Dalton Anderson (Jr. • Elkhorn) took first place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 51.57 seconds. He also swam with Matt Engelhardt (Jr. • DeForest), Ryan Ronayne (Jr. • Fond du Lac) and Bobby Theer (Fr. • Green Oaks, Ill.) to record a winning time of 1:31.85 in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

UW-Oshkosh had eight second-place performances, including two by both Engelhardt and Zachary Hahn (Fr. • Hartford). Engelhardt posted times of 2:12.19 in the 200-yard individual medley and 52.24 in the 100-yard freestyle, while Hahn marked efforts of 23.63 in the 50-yard freestyle and 1:00.20 in the 100-yard backstroke.

The Titans also received second-place times of 1:03.58 from Anderson in the 100-yard breaststroke, 5:51.35 from Evan DuVall (Fr. • Sussex) in the 500-yard freestyle and 2:01.50 from Nelson Figueroa (Fr. • Pleasant Prairie) in the 200-yard freestyle. Tim Kuckuk (Jr. • Plymouth) finished second in the three-meter diving with a score of 271.05.

Eddie Dominguez (Jr. • Greendale) contributed to UW-Oshkosh's point total by earning third place in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events with times of 23.64 and 52.79, respectively. Other third-place results went to the Titans' Elliott Bartheld (Fr. • Onalaska) in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:03.65, Cole Becker (Fr. • Menomonee Falls) in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:06.26, Josh Dean (Fr. • Fond du Lac) in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:10.76, Joe Infusino-Braun (So. • DeForest) in the 500-yard freestyle at 6:17.43 and Quin Lenz (So. • Oshkosh) in the 200-yard individual medley at 2:18.05.

UW-Oshkosh's 200-yard medley relay team of Becker, Dominguez, DuVall and Engelhardt took third place with a time of 1:46.65.

The Titans compete at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 20-21).

Titans Sail Away From Vikings

Dalton AndersonPhil DevineRyan RonayneRyan Ronayne (Jr. • Fond du Lac) won two events and swam on the triumphant 200-yard freestyle relay squad during UW-Oshkosh’s 139-80 victory over the Lawrence University men’s swimming and diving team on Friday (Dec. 9) in Appleton.

Grouping with Zachary Hahn (Fr. • Hartford), Quin Lenz (So. • Oshkosh) and Bobby Theer (Fr. • Green Oaks, Ill.), Ronayne’s quartet captured the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:33.94. Ronayne added victories with times of 22.83 in the 50-yard freestyle and 5:34.62 in the 500-yard freestyle.

Two other Titans, Dalton Anderson (Jr. • Elkhorn) and Phil Devine (Sr. • Winnebago, Ill.), posted a pair of first-place results. Anderson won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.41 and the 100-yard butterfly with a mark of 50.75. Devine counted his wins in the one- and three-meter diving, with scores of 326.03 and 380.18, respectively.

UW-Oshkosh dominated the freestyle races with three additional victories. Matt Engelhardt (Jr. • DeForest) earned the 100-yard title with a time of 52.21, while Hahn prevailed with a figure of 11:08.16 at 1,000 yards and Lenz with a performance of 1:56.68 at 200 yards.

The 200-yard medley relay squad of Anderson, Engelhgardt, Eddie Dominguez (Jr. • Greendale) and Evan DuVall (Fr. • Sussex came in second place with its time of 1:47.40. DuVall took second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.02, as did Theer in the 500-yard freestyle with an effort of 5:35.36.

Dominguez notched third-place results in both the 50- and 500-yard freestyle with time of 23.97 and 5:36.85, respectively.
Other showings of third place came from Elliott Bartheld (Fr. • Onalaska) in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:09.42, Josh Dean (Fr. • Fond du Lac) in the 100-yard breaststroke with a mark of 1:10.70 and Engelhardt in the 200-yard individual medley with a performance of 2:11.86.

The Titans will train in Florida from Dec. 15-23 before competing at UW-La Crosse on Jan. 14.

Devine Earns WIAC Diver Of The Week Award

Phil DevineFor the third time this season, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has named UW-Oshkosh's Phil Devine (Sr. • Winnebago, Ill.) as its Men's Diver of the Week. The award covered diving meets held Nov. 28 - Dec. 4.

Devine captured a pair of event titles as three UW-Oshkosh athletes competed at the UW-Stevens Point Diving Invitational on Dec. 3.

Devine took first place in the one-meter diving with a score of 558.6. UW-Oshkosh's Tim Kuckuk finished second with 468.55 points, UW-Whitewater's John Syens third with 303.35 and UW-Stevens Point's Ben Mendeering fourth with 292.9.

In the three-meter diving, Devine totaled a winning score of 575.66. Kuckuk placed second with 438.75 points, Mendeering third with 282.7 and Syens fourth with 256.85.

Joe Devroy of UW-Whitewater was named the WIAC's Men's Swimmer of the Week.

Anderson Paces Titans At Falcon Invitational

Dalton AndersonMatt EngelhardtDalton Anderson (Jr. • Elkhorn) booked four top-fives to lead UW-Oshkosh at the Falcon Men’s Swimming and Diving Invitational on Friday and Saturday (Dec. 2-3) in Minneapolis, Minn.

In the 100-yard butterfly, Anderson placed second with a time of 50.97 seconds. He then added finishes of third in the 200-yard butterfly at 1:54.71 and fifth in both the 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard individual medley at 46.87 seconds and 1:57.29, respectively.

UW-Oshkosh’s next-best results came in relay competition. The 200-yard freestyle team of Anderson, Eddie Dominguez (Jr. • Greendale), Zachary Hahn (Fr. • Hartford) and Ryan Ronayne (Jr. • Fond du Lac) came in ninth with its time of 1:28.32. Anderson, Hahn and Ronayne then joined Matt Engelhardt (Jr. • DeForest) to earn 12th place in the 400-yard freestyle relay at 3:18.07.

The relay success continued with a 19th-place showing of 1:43.28 from Anderson, Dominguez, Engelhardt and Evan DuVall (Fr. • Sussex) in the 200-yard medley race. At the end of the 400-yard medley event, the group of DuVall, Engelhardt, Hahn and Ronayne ranked 20th with a time of 3:50.39.

Both Engelhardt and Hahn posted an individual finish of 21st. Engelhardt clocked his time of 58.81 seconds in the 100-yard backstroke, while Hahn recorded a 2:11.83 in the 200-yard butterfly. The Titans’ notable performances concluded with Engelhardt’s 24th-place time of 2:12.10 in the 200-yard backstroke.

UW-Oshkosh travels to Appleton for a dual meet against Lawrence University on Friday (Dec. 9).

Devine Dives To UW-Stevens Point Invitational Titles

Devine took first place in the one-meter diving with a score of 558.6. UW-Oshkosh's Tim Kuckuk (Jr. • Plymouth) finished second with 468.55 points, UW-Whitewater's John Syens third with 303.35 and UW-Stevens Point's Ben Mendeering fourth with 292.9. UW-Oshkosh's Zach Seelman (So. • Sturgeon Bay) placed sixth with 249.05 points.

In the three-meter diving, Devine totaled a winning score of 575.66. Kuckuk placed second with 438.75 points, Mendeering third with 282.7 and Syens fourth with 256.85.

UW-Oshkosh visits Lawrence University for a dual meet on Friday (Dec. 9).

Titans Glide Past Falcons

Dalton AndersonQuin LenzRyan RonayneUW-Oshkosh captured both relays and six individual events to gain a 122-90 victory over the UW-River Falls men’s swimming and diving team on Saturday (Nov. 19) in River Falls.

Dalton Anderson (Jr. • Elkhorn) accounted for two of the Titan wins. He topped the 100-yard breaststroke field with a time of 1:01.98 and the 400-yard individual medley standings at a school-record mark of 4:18.52.

Four different Titans added an event title. Matt Engelhardt (Jr. • DeForest) posted a victorious time of 51.98 in the 100-yard freestyle, while Zachary Hahn (Fr. • Hartford) swam to a 1:02.54 in the 100-yard backstroke. The other two triumphs came from Quin Lenz (So. • Oshkosh) in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:27.56 and Ryan Ronayne (Jr. • Fond du Lac) in the 100-yard butterfly at 58.28.

UW-Oshkosh’s 200-yard freestyle relay team clocked the best time with a 1:35.54. The Titans’ 200-yard medley relay squad then won with its mark of 2:01.50.

Eddie Dominguez (Jr. • Greendale) recorded a pair of second-place showings. He touched the wall in 1:02.99 during the 100-yard backstroke and in 1:55.68 during the 200-yard freestyle. Hahn added a second-place finish in the 400-yard individual medley (4:55.09), while Bryan Stoffel (Fr. • Wittenberg) did the same in the 50-yard freestyle at 25.04.

Ronayne continued his successful day with a third-place result of 1:59.84 in the 200-yard freestyle. In the 50 and 500-yard freestyle races, Nelson Figueroa (Fr. • Pleasant Prairie) took third with his times of 25.29 and 5:47.27. The Titans’ final third-place score was a 21:58.79 by Joe Infusino-Braun (So. • DeForest) in the 1,650-yard freestyle.

UW-Oshkosh returns to action at the Falcon Invitational on Dec. 2-3 in Minneapolis, Minn.

Devine Collects WIAC Diver Of The Week Honors

Phil DevineThe Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has chosen UW-Oshkosh's Phil Devine (Sr. • Winnebago, Ill.) as its Men's Diver of the Week. The award covered swimming and diving meets held Nov. 7-13.

Devine won both diving events as UW-Oshkosh suffered a 159-83 loss to UW-Eau Claire on Nov. 12.

Devine posted winning scores of 358.13 off the one-meter board and 357.45 off the three-meter plank. UW-Eau Claire’s Nick Badilla finished second in both events, posting scores of 289.50 in the one-meter diving and 325.20 in the three-meter diving.

Both diving events featured five competitors.

Corey Groshens of UW-Eau Claire was named the WIAC's Men's Swimmer of the Week.

Blugolds Sink Titans

Dalton AndersonPhil DevineZachary HahnUW-Eau Claire swept the top five places in the 500-yard freestyle on its way to a 159-83 decision over the UW-Oshkosh men’s swimming and diving team on Saturday (Nov. 12) in Albee Hall.

The Titans received a pair of individual victories from both Dalton Anderson (Jr. • Elkhorn) and Phil Devine (Sr. • Winnebago, Ill.). Anderson earned his in the 200-yard events, clocking a time of 1:47.40 in the freestyle and 1:59.71 in the butterfly. Devine scored similar figures of 358.13 in the one-meter diving and 357.45 in the three-meter diving.

UW-Oshkosh got second-place results from both its relay teams. The 400-yard freestyle group marked a time of 3:26.72 while the 400-yard medley quartet swam to an effort of 3:50.73. Zachary Hahn (Fr. • Hartford) earned another second-place listing with his 50-yard freestyle time of 23.11.

In the diving events, Tim Kuckuk (Jr. • Plymouth) finished third at one meter and three meters with scores of 282.53 and 261.68, respectively. Hahn turned in a third-place showing of 2:14.38 in the 200-yard butterfly, while Cole Becker (Fr. • Menomonee Falls) and Ryan Ronayne (Jr. • Fond du Lac) each tallied a pair of top-five mentions. Becker tallied a third-place time of 2:15.10 in the 200-yard backstroke and a fifth-place value of 24.80 in the 50-yard freestyle. Ronayne’s freestyle results came at 100 yards with a third-place time of 51.36 and 200 yards with a fifth-place effort of 2:00.39.

UW-Oshkosh returns to the pool at UW-River Falls on Saturday (Nov. 19).

Anderson Swims To WIAC Weekly Award

Dalton AndersonUW-Oshkosh's Dalton Anderson (Jr. • Elkhorn) won three events in a triangular with Luther College (Iowa) and UW-Whitewater to earn the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Men's Swimmer of the Week award for meets held October 31 - November 6.

Anderson's first-place efforts came as UW-Oshkosh suffered losses of 176-85 to Luther College (Iowa) and 183-72 to UW-Whitewater on Nov. 5.

Anderson won the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 23.87 seconds. His performance defeated 13 other competitors, including Benjamin Wynn of UW-Whitewater who placed second in 25.04.

In the 100-yard butterfly, Anderson ousted 14 other contestants. Anderson posted a winning time of 51.72 seconds, while Wynn finished second in 55.29.

Anderson’s final victory came in the 100-yard individual medley. He recorded a time of 56.48 seconds to defeat 11 other swimmers. Marcus Genrich of UW-Whitewater placed second with a time of 56.93 seconds.

Andrew Janny of UW-La Crosse was named the WIAC's Men's Diver of the Week.

Titans Topped By Norse, Warhawks

Dalton AndersonPhil DevineMatt EngelhardtTim KuckukDalton Anderson (Jr. • Elkhorn) posted three of UW-Oshkosh’s five wins as it dropped matches to the Luther College (Iowa) and UW-Whitewater men's swimming and diving teams on Saturday (Nov. 5) in Whitewater.

The Titans fell to Luther College by a 176-85 score and UW-Whitewater by a 183-72 result.

The freestyle races belonged to Anderson as he posted winning times of 23.87 at 50 yards and 51.72 at 100 yards. He added another triumph in the 100-yard individual medley at 56.48.

Phil Devine (Sr. • Winnebago, Ill.) accounted for the remaining first-place finishes, scoring 294.65 in the one-meter diving and 336.35 in the three-meter diving.

Tim Kuckuk (Jr. • Plymouth) tacked on more UW-Oshkosh points by earning second place in both diving events. He tallied scores of 275.35 at three meters and 269.10 at one meter. UW-Oshkosh’s best relay came in the 200-yard freestyle, where it marked a third-place result at 1:35.67.

Matt Engelhardt (Jr. • DeForest) swam his best in the backstroke races, capturing third place in both the 50 (28.45) and 100-yard (1:01.69) distances. While Ryan Ronayne (Jr. • Fond du Lac) took fourth in the 50-yard freestyle at 23.35 and 100-yard freestyle at 52.30, Cole Becker (Fr. • Menomonee Falls) finished fourth in the 50-yard backstroke at 29.26.

Becker notched a fifth-place figure of 1:02.30 in the 100-yard backstroke. The Titans’ notable performers concluded with Quin Lenz (So. • Oshkosh), who gained a fifth-place result of 5:33.78 in the 500-yard freestyle and a sixth-place listing of 11:24.77 in the 1,000-yard freestyle.

UW-Oshkosh has a home meet vs. UW-Eau Claire on Saturday (Nov. 12).

Devine Named WIAC Diver Of The Week

Devine won both diving events as UW-Oshkosh opened its season with a 134-95 victory over Carroll University on Oct. 29.

Devine posted winning scores of 322.20 in the one-meter diving and 365.85 in the three-meter diving. Both events featured three divers, with UW-Oshkosh's Tim Kuckuk (Jr. • Plymouth) finishing second in both categories.

Joey Clapp of UW-Stevens Point was named the WIAC's Men's Swimmer of the Week.

Titans Down Pioneers To Open Season

Phil DevineZachary HahnBobby TheerZachary Hahn (Fr. • Hartford) won a pair of freestyle races and Phil Devine (Sr. • Winnebago, Ill.) both diving events to give UW-Oshkosh a 134-95 victory over the Carroll University men’s swimming and diving team on Saturday (Oct. 29) in Albee Hall.

The Titans took first place in eight events, including Hahn’s performances of 23.31 in the 50-yard freestyle and 5:28.66 in the 500-yard freestyle. Devine, an All-American the past three years, easily captured the one-meter diving with a score of 322.20 and the three-meter plunge with a mark of 365.85. The three-meter value set a new pool record.

Dalton Anderson (Jr. • Elkhorn) contributed in two other victories. His individual triumph came in the 100-yard butterfly, where he touched the wall in 51.07. Hahn, Eddie Dominguez (Jr. • Greendale) and Bobby Theer (Fr. • Green Oaks, Ill.) joined Anderson to record a winning time of 1:31.84 in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The Titans’ other two first-place results came from Dominguez in the 100-yard freestyle (51.60) and Theer in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.18).

Following just behind Devine in both diving standings was Tim Kuckuk (Jr. • Plymouth). He tallied second-place figures of 257.55 at one meter and 281.33 at three meters. Matt Engelhardt (Jr. • DeForest) also finished second twice with his times of 23.56 in the 50-yard freestyle and 50.41 in the 100-yard backstroke. Aaron Hutzler (Fr. • Middleton) ranked second in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:08.31, while collaborating with Anderson, Engelhardt and Cole Becker (Fr. • Menomonee Falls) for second place in the 200-yard medley relay at 1:44.65.

Adding more points for the Titans was Evan DuVall (Fr. • Sussex), with his second-place time of 2:22.97 in the 200-yard individual medley and third-place mark of 1:08.33 in the 100-yard breaststroke. Becker tacked on a pair of third-place results with a time of 1:02.25 in the 100-yard backstroke and a mark of 2:10.91 in the 200-yard freestyle. The finishes of third concluded with Dominguez in the 50-yard freestyle (23.61) and Theer in the 100-yard freestyle (54.30).

UW-Oshkosh has a dual meet at UW-Whitewater on Saturday (Nov. 5).
