Chadderdon, Devine Dive To All-America Honors

Jacob ChadderdonPhil DevineAll-America performances by divers Jacob Chadderdon (Sr. • Madison) and Phil Devine (Fr. • Winnebago, Ill.) helped UW-Oshkosh place 20th at the NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championship held Wednesday through Saturday (March 18-21) in Minneapolis, Minn.

UW-Oshkosh tallied 48 points, all by Chadderdon and Devine, to record its highest scoring value at the meet since 1996. The Titans' 20th-place finish was their best since 2004.

Kenyon College (Ohio) scored 904 points to capture the team title for the 30th consecutive year. Emory University (Ga.) ranked second in the team standings with 402 points, while Denison University (Ohio) placed third with 308.5, St. Olaf College (Minn.) fourth with 255 and Amherst College (Mass.) fifth with 196. A total of 57 teams scored points at this year's meet.

Devine collected a pair of All-America awards by finishing fifth in the one-meter diving with 469.85 points and seventh in the three-meter diving with 466.25. Chadderdon earned All-America mention by placing second in the three-meter diving with 524.20 points. He also finished 12th in the one-meter diving with 423.25 points.

Nicholas Halbach of the United States Merchant Marine Academy (N.Y.) won both the one-meter diving and three-meter diving events with scores of 524.70 and 536.35, respectively. Both categories featured 22 participants.

Bryan Carlisle of Rowan University (N.J.) finished second in the one-meter diving with 518.20 points, while Brian Sobel of Springfield College (Mass.) placed third with 513.50 and Kai Robinson of Amherst College fourth with 494.30.

Following Halbach and Chadderdon in the three-meter diving were Robinson with a third-place score of 516.10 points, Nathan LaRowe of State University of New York-Potsdam with a fourth-place figure of 499.35 and Shawn Merlin of State University of New York-Oswego with a fifth-place mark of 479.80.

Chadderdon, Devine To Dive At NCAA Championship

Jacob ChadderdonPhil DevineUW-Oshkosh will be represented by Jacob Chadderdon (Sr. • Madison) and Phil Devine (Fr. • Winnebago, Ill.) at this weekend's NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championship in Minneapolis, Minn. The four-day meet begins Wednesday (March 18) and concludes on Saturday (March 21).

Chadderdon and Devine both qualified for the meet in the one and three-meter diving categories. Each event features 22 participants, with the one-meter diving scheduled for Thursday (March 19) and the three-meter diving for Saturday.

Chadderdon will compete at his third consecutive NCAA Division III Championship. Last year, he earned All-America honors in the one-meter diving with a second-place score of 465.90. He also finished ninth in the three-meter diving with a value of 493.00.

In 2007, Chadderdon suffered an injury at the NCAA Division III Championship and was unable to finish his dives in the one and three-meter diving competitions.

Devine, who makes his first NCAA postseason appearance, was named Diver of the Meet at the WIAC Championship held Feb. 19-21 in Brown Deer. He captured a pair of league titles after recording first-place scores of 491.45 in the one-meter diving and 514.55 in the three-meter diving.

Titans Place Fifth At WIAC Championship

Phil Devine (Fr. • Winnebago, Ill.) captured both the one and three-meter diving events to lead the UW-Oshkosh men’s swimming and diving team at the WIAC championship held Thursday-Saturday (Feb. 19-21) in Brown Deer.

Devine, who was named the Diver of the Meet tallied a score of 491.45 in the one-meter dive and 514.55 in the three-meter dive to pace UW-Oshkosh. With Devine’s honor, the Titans have had the WIAC Diver of the Meet six out of the past seven years.

UW-Stevens Point won its 10th-consecutive conference title by registering 999.50 points. UW-La Crosse placed second with 751.50 points, while UW-Whitewater was third with 555.50, UW-Eau Claire fourth with 483.50, UW-Oshkosh fifth with 244 and UW-River Falls sixth with 192.

UW-Stevens Point’s Chase Gross captured Swimmer of the Meet honors for the second straight season. UW-Whitewater head coach Joel Rollings was voted the Coach of the Year, while Rob Donisch received the Max Sparger Scholar-Athlete Award.

Named to the All-Sportsmanship Team were UW-Eau Claire's Ben Macalalad, UW-La Crosse's Chad Martin, UW-Oshkosh's Ryan Curley (Sr. • Milton), UW-River Falls' Tyler Campbell, UW-Stevens Point's Chase Gross and UW-Whitewater's Mike Huffman.

Jacob Chadderdon (Sr. • Madison), the 2007 and 2008 WIAC Diver of the Meet, also had an outstanding weekend for the Titans. Chadderdon finished second in the one-meter dive with 449.55 points and third in the three-meter dive with 488.80.

Finishing ninth for the Titans was Ryan Elliott (Sr. • Manitowoc) in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:03.04 and grabbing 10th for UW-Oshkosh was Matt Behnke (Sr. • Eden) in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:22.25.

Jon Dudzinski (Fr. • Ripon) enjoyed an 11th-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:03.40 and a 12th-place performance in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.44.

Other top-12 listings for UW-Oshkosh included an 11th-place result for Brian Markovich (Fr. • Colgate) in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:06.71 and a 12th-place performance for Kent Ludeman (Jr. • Cedarburg) in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:05.39.

Chadderdon and Devine will represent UW-Oshkosh in both the one and three-meter diving events at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championship on March 18-21 in Minneapolis, Minn.

Devine Honored As WIAC Diver Of The Week

Devine achieved his citation after winning the one-meter diving and finishing second in the three-meter diving at the UW-Eau Claire Diving Invitational held Feb. 14.

Devine won the one-meter diving with 450.85 points. Bryan Dykstra of UW-Eau Claire finished second with 442.80 points, while Jacob Chadderdon of UW-Oshkosh placed third with 434.05 and Kenny Ritt of UW-Eau Claire fourth with 431.210. The 11-dive event featured 11 competitors.

Devine finished second among the 10 contestants in the three-meter diving with 499.25 points. Chadderdon won the 11-dive event with 508.95 points, while Dykstra finished third with 495.00 and Billy Meyer of Minnesota State University-Mankato fourth with 435.70.

No team scores were kept at the meet.

The WIAC didn't selected a Men's Swimmer of the Week.

vitational Titles

Chadderdon won the three-meter diving with 508.95 points, while Devine finished second with 499.25. Bryan Dykstra of UW-Eau Claire placed third among the 10 contestants with 495 points, Billy Meyer of Minnesota State University-Mankato fourth with 435.70 and Kenny Ritt of UW-Eau Claire fifth with 415.90.

In the one-meter diving, Devine compiled a winning score of 450.85 points. Dykstra finished second among the 11 participants with 442.80 points, while Chadderdon placed third with 434.05, Ritt fourth with 431.210 and Meyer fifth with 381.50.

Both events featured 11 dives.

No team scores were kept at the meet.

Chadderdon Announced As WIAC Diver Of The Week

Chadderdon, who received the award for the 13th time in his career, recorded a pair of top five finishes at the Minnesota Men's Swimming & Diving Challenge held Feb. 6-7 in Minneapolis, Minn.

Chadderdon placed second among the 17 competitors in the three-meter diving with a score of 273.10.
Alex Stern of the University of Minnesota won the event with a score of 278.95. Tyler Jepsen of the University of Minnesota finished third with a score of 269.90.

In the one-meter diving, Chadderdon compiled a fifth-place value of 261.20. Nathan Jimerson of St. Cloud State University (Minn.) won the event with a score of 287.35. Stern finished second with a score of 277.30, while Ross Eiden of St. Cloud State University placed third at 264.54 and Phil Devine of UW-Oshkosh fourth at 264.00. The event featured 19 participants.

Tom Phillips of UW-River Falls was chosen as the league's Swimmer of the Week.

Chadderdon, Devine Dive At Minnesota Challenge

Jacob ChadderdonUW-Oshkosh divers Jacob Chadderdon (Sr. • Madison) and Phil Devine (Fr. • Winnebago, Ill.) both earned a pair of top five finishes at the Minnesota Men's Swimming & Diving Challenge held Friday and Saturday (Feb. 6-7) in Minneapolis, Minn.

Chadderdon placed second among the 17 competitors in the three-meter diving with a score of 273.10.
Alex Stern of the University of Minnesota won the event with a score of 278.95, while Tyler Jepsen of the University of Minnesota finished third at 269.90, Nathan Jimerson of St. Cloud State University (Minn.) fourth at 243.05 and Divine fifth at 234.90.

In the one-meter diving, Devine finished fourth with a score of 264.00 and Chadderdon fifth with a value of 261.20. Jimerson won the event of 19 participants with a score of 287.35, while Stern placed second at 277.30, Ross Eiden of St. Cloud State University third at 264.54 and Phil Devine of UW-Oshkosh fourth at 264.00.

No team scores were kept at the meet.

Chadderdon Named WIAC Diver Of The Week

Jacob ChadderdonThe WIAC has named UW-Oshkosh's Jacob Chadderdon (Sr. • Madison) as its Men's Diver of the Week for swimming and diving events held Jan. 19-25.

Chadderdon, who received the league's Diver of the Week award for the third time this season and 12th time overall, defeated other 14 competitors to win one-meter diving at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational held Jan. 23-24.

Chadderdon won the event with an 11-dive score of 528.10 points. Brian Dykstra of UW-Eau Claire finished second with a score of 475.35.

Chadderdon was one of only two UW-Oshkosh competitors in the meet. The Titans finished seventh in the team standings with 35 points.

UW-Stevens Point scored 1,091 points to win the team title. Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) finished second in the seven-team meet with 821.5 points and UW-La Crosse third with 605.

Norse Turn The Tide On Titans

Ryan ElliottJustin ZanglRyan Elliott (Sr. • Manitowoc), Brian Markovich and Justin Zangl (Sr. • Hartford) each had two, fourth-place or better finishes to pace the UW-Oshkosh men’s swimming and diving team in a 181-36 loss to Luther College (Iowa) on Saturday (Jan. 24) in Decorah, Iowa.

Zangl had the Titans’ lone second-place performance in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:17.44. Zangl also placed fourth-place in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:54.87.

UW-Oshkosh’s Elliott placed third in both the 200-yard individual medley and the 200-yard breaststroke in times of 2:16.72 and 2:29.78, respectively.

The Titans’ Markovich tallied a third-place result in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 24.59 and a fourth-place result in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:14.57.

UW-Oshkosh rounded out its’ top fourth-place performances with Dan Johnson’s (Sr. • Anoka, Minn.) third-place result in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:29.12 and Kent Ludeman’s (Jr. • Cedarburg) fourth-place showing in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:39.94.

Titans Drop Dual Meets To Pointers, Warhawks

Jacob ChadderdonPhil DevineRyan ElliottUW-Stevens Point and UW-Whitewater proved to be to strong as the two men's swimming and diving teams defeated UW-Oshkosh on Saturday (Jan. 17) in Stevens Point.

UW-Oshkosh suffered setbacks of 209-82 to UW-Stevens Point, the nine-time defending WIAC champion, and 204-83 to UW-Whitewater.

UW-Oshkosh owned winner in two events as Phil Devine (Fr. • Winnebago, Ill.) won the one-meter diving with a score of 279.00 and Jacob Chadderdon (Sr. • Madison) the three-meter diving with a value of 312.80. Devine finished second in the three-meter diving with a score of 250.85 while Chadderdon placed second in the one-meter diving with a figure of 278.70.

Ryan Elliott (Sr. • Manitowoc) contributed a pair of fourth-place finishes after posting times of 2:29.39 in the 200-yard breaststroke and 2:16.93 in the 200-yard individual medley. He also grabbed a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time 1:07.91.

UW-Oshkosh had three sixth-place efforts as Kent Ludeman (Jr. • Cedarburg) swam 1:06.57 in the 100-yard butterfly, Brian Markovich (Fr. • Colgate) 5:52.66 in the 500-yard freestyle and Justin Zangl (Sr. • Hartford) 2:21.20 in the 200-yard individual medley. Zangl also finished seventh in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:32.13.

Jeremy Potter (So. • McFarland) added a pair of seventh-place finishes with times of 6:07.27 in the 500-yard freestyle and 1:20.13 in the 100-yard breaststroke. He also placed eighth in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:40.86.

Other UW-Oshkosh results featured Adam Socha (Sr. • Pleasant Prairie) finishing seventh in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:10.63 and Matt Behnke (Sr. • Eden) placing eighth in the 200-yard butterfly with an effort of 2:34.37.

In the relays, UW-Oshkosh placed fourth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:40.54 and fifth in the 200-yard medley with a performance of 1:50.26.

Titans Drown Red Hawks, Vikings

Jacob ChadderdonRyan ElliottJustin ZanglThe UW-Oshkosh men’s swimming and diving team rode a trio of individual titles to a razor-thin victory over Lawrence University and Ripon College on Friday and Saturday (Dec. 5-6) in Albee Hall.

UW-Oshkosh scored 976 points to top second-place Lawrence University’s figure of 967 points, while Ripon College finished third with 694 points.

Jacob Chadderdon (Sr. • Madison) remained undefeated on the year in both the one and three-meter diving events by posting scores of 396.60 and 483.08, respectively.

Ryan Elliott (Sr. • Manitowoc) was UW-Oshkosh’s remaining event champion as he captured the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:22.16.

The Titans received a pair of second-place efforts from both Justin Zangl (Sr. • Hartford) and John Gerrits (Fr. • Hubertus). Zangl achieved his scores in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:55.18 and in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:16.43. Gerrits posted his numbers in the one-meter diving event with 217.45 points and the three-meter competition with 233.40 points.

UW-Oshkosh’s second-place results continued with Brian Markovich (Fr. • Colgate) in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 59.33 and Kent Ludeman (Jr. • Cedarburg) in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:14.59.

The Titans notched four second-place listings in the relay department. The 200-yard freestyle squad finished in a time of 1:38.41, while the 800-yard freestyle relay group scored a time of 8:00.25. The 200-yard medley relay finished in a time of 1:52.05 to complement the 400-yard medley quartet’s time of 4:03.78.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team consisted of Matt Behnke (Sr. • Eden), Markovich, Kyle Spittler (Jr. • Clinton, Iowa) and Zangl, while the 800-yard freestyle relay was made up of Behnke, Elliott, Zangl and Jon Streich (Fr. • Hubertus). Competing on the 200-yard medley relay team were Behnke, Markovich, Spittler and Striech, as the 400-yard medley relay team featured Elliott, Markovich, Zangl and Steve Schendt (Jr. • Janesville).

Elliott achieved three third-place efforts with his time of 1:00.07 in the 100-yard butterfly, a mark of 2:16.86 in the 200-yard individual medley and a clocking of 4:56.05 in the 400-yard individual medley.

Third-place accolades for the Titans continued with Behnke in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.59, Ludeman in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.16 and Zangl in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 18:43.64. Zangl closed out his day with a fourth-place listing in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking a score of 53.28 seconds.

UW-Oshkosh had Schendt and Streich each snag a pair of fourth-place showings. Schendt tallied a time of 1:07.29 in the 100-yard breaststroke and a figure of 2:26.36 in the 200-yard breaststroke. On the other side, Striech recorded a time of 5:37.64 in the 500-yard freestyle and a finish of 19:50.11 in the 1,650-yard freestyle.

Titans Place Fifth At WIAC Relays

Jacob ChadderdonThe UW-Oshkosh men's swimming and diving team turned in a fifth-place finish for the fourth consecutive year at the WIAC Relays held Saturday (Nov. 22) in Eau Claire.

UW-Stevens Point took home the title with 152 points, followed by second-place UW-Eau Claire with 120, third-place UW-La Crosse with 102, fourth-place UW-Whitewater with 90, fifth-place UW-Oshkosh with 66 and sixth-place UW-River Falls with 34.

Highlighting the day for the Titans was a first-place performance by Jacob Chadderdon (Sr. • Madison) and Mose Coffee (Fr. • Glendale) in the three-meter diving event with 263.80 points. Chadderdon and Coffee also placed second in the one-meter diving competition with 199.30 points.

UW-Oshkosh captured third place in the 850-yard medley with a time of 9:02.81 to record its best swimming tally of the meet. Members of the relay included Andrew Cipriano (Sr. • Whitewater), Alex Socha (Sr. • Pleasant Prairie), Jon Streich (Fr. • Hubertus) and Justin Zangl (Sr. • Hartford).

Last season UW-Oshkosh amassed 66 points, after tallying 58 in 2007 and 44 in 2006. The Titans finished in fourth place during the 2005 event with 72 points.

WIAC Names Chadderdon As Its Diver Of The Week

Jacob ChadderdonThe WIAC has selected UW-Oshkosh's Jacob Chadderdon (Sr. • Madison) as its Men's Diver of the Week for swimming and diving events held Nov. 10-16.

Chadderdon qualified for the 2009 NCAA Division III Championship in both the one and three-meter diving events in meets against UW-La Crosse on Nov. 14 and UW-Eau Claire on Nov. 15.

In UW-Oshkosh’s 188-54 loss to UW-La Crosse, Chadderdon won the one-meter diving with a score of 284.70 and the three-meter diving with a mark of 282.00.

In the Titans’ 122-102 loss to UW-Eau Claire, Chadderdon won the one-meter diving with a score of 278.75 and the three-meter diving with a figure of 304.30.


Blugolds Sneak Past Titans

Jacob ChadderdonJon StreichThe UW-Oshkosh men’s swimming and diving team won six events, including two by Jacob Chadderdon (Sr. • Madison), in a narrow 122-102 defeat to UW-Eau Claire on Saturday (Nov. 15) in Albee Hall.

Chadderdon captured both diving events to pace the Titans. He totaled 278.75 points in the one-meter event and 304.30 points in the three-meter competition.

Other first-place performances for UW-Oshkosh included Ryan Elliott (Sr. • Manitowoc) in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:24.34, Jon Streich (Fr. • Hubertus) in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.04 and Brian Markovich (Fr. • Colgate) in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:16.47.

The quartet of Matt Behnke (Sr. • Eden), Jon Dudzinski (Fr. • Ripon), Streich and Justin Zangl (Sr. • Hartford) wrapped up the final first-place result for the Titans in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:37.34.

Earning second-place finishes for the Titans were Dudzinski in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.37, Andrew Cipriano (Sr. • Whitewater) in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:55.09 and Behnke in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.81.

Mose Coffee (Fr. • Glendale) posted one of UW-Oshkosh’s third-place listings in the one-meter diving event with 243.60 points, as did Kyle Spittler (Jr. • Clinton, Iowa) in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 57.23 and Steve Schendt (Jr. • Janesville) in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:30.92.

Fourth-place results for UW-Oshkosh began with Ryan Curley (Sr. • Milton) in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 20:16.61 and continued with Elliott in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:56.51. Zangl achieved fourth place on two occasions, in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:56.98 and in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:23.36. Jeremy Potter (So. • McFarland) added a fourth-place contribution in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 58.07, along with Behnke in the 200-yard breaststroke and his time of 2:39.45.

Eagles Fly Away From Titans

Jacob ChadderdonRyan ElliottThe UW-Oshkosh men’s swimming and diving team grabbed the top two places in both diving events as it dropped a 188-54 decision to UW-La Crosse on Friday (Nov. 14) in Albee Hall.

Jacob Chadderdon (Sr. • Madison) continued his sensational season by winning the one-meter diving event with 284.70 points and the three-meter diving competition with 282 points.

Mose Coffee (Fr. • Glendale) tallied second-place performances in both events for the Titans with marks of 227.70 points in the one-meter dive and 197.35 points in the three-meter plunge.

UW-Oshkosh’s lone third-place result belonged to Ryan Elliott (Sr. • Manitowoc), who achieved his score in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.03.

The Titans posted two fourth-place performances as Kent Ludeman (Jr. • Cedarburg) recorded a time of 5:38.87 in the 500-yard freestyle and Justin Zangl (Sr. • Hartford) clocked a time of 11:24.29 in the 1,000-yard freestyle.

Titans Fall To Norse, Warhawks

Jacob ChadderdonJon DudzinskiJacob Chadderdon (Sr. • Madison) earned the individual title in both of his events as the UW-Oshkosh men’s swimming and diving team dropped a pair of dual meets with Luther College (Iowa) and UW-Whitewater on Saturday (Nov. 1) in Whitewater.

The Titans fell to Luther College by a score of 230-68 and to UW-Whitewater by a count of 211-83.

Chadderdon won the one-meter and three-meter diving events for the Titans’ only first-place finishes. He scored a total of 228.40 points in the one-meter competition and posted a mark of 249.20 points in the three-meter contest to dominate the field.

Jon Dudzinski (Fr. • Ripon) took second place in a pair of events to account for the Titans’ remaining top-four finishes. Dudzinski was just behind the winner in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 29.65 and in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.46.

Titans Finish Second At St. Norbert College Invitational

Matt BehnkeRyan ElliottBrian MarkovichThe UW-Oshkosh men’s swimming and diving team relied on a pair of second-place relay results and two third-place relay finishes on its way to second place in the team standings at the St. Norbert College Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 25) in Appleton.

Lawrence University scored 413.5 points to win the six-team event, while UW-Oshkosh finished second with 377.5, Loyola University Chicago (Ill.) Swim Club third with 316, Marquette University fourth with 299, Central Michigan University fifth with 262 and Beloit College sixth with 156.

UW-Oshkosh’s 100-yard medley relay squad finished in a time of 50.95 while the 500-yard freestyle relay group posted a time of 4:15.77 to pace the Titans’ second-place results.

Members of the 100-yard medley relay were Matt Behnke (Sr. • Eden), Jon Dudzinski (Fr. • Ripon), Ryan Elliott (Sr. • Manitowoc) and Brian Markovich (Fr. • Colgate). Joining Behnke, Elliott and Markovich on the 500-yard freestyle relay for the Titans were Ryan Curley (Sr. • Milton), Kent Ludeman (Jr. • Cedarburg), Julian Ross (Fr. • Minneapolis, Minn.), Adam Socha (Sr. • Pleasant Prairie), Kyle Spittler (Jr. • Clinton, Iowa), Jon Streich (Fr. • Hubertus) and Justin Zangl (Sr. • Hartford).

The Titans’ 100-yard freestyle relay group finished in a time of 44.89 while the 500-yard freestyle crescendo relay notched a time of 4:50.40 for UW-Oshkosh’s third-place showings. Competing on the 100-yard freestyle relay were Behnke, Dudzinski, Streich and Zangl, as the 500-yard crescendo relay consisted of Elliott, Spittler, Streich and Zangl.

UW-Oshkosh’s lone individual with a third-place result was Markovich, who finished with a time of 26.28 in the 50-yard butterfly. Markovich also added a fourth-place showing in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 29.81.

Dudzinski amassed two fourth-place showings with his performances in the 50-yard breaststroke and the 50-yard freestyle with times of 29.81 and 23.65, respectively.

Zangl closed out the Titans’ top-five listings with a fifth-place result in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.05.

No diving events were held in the meet.

Chadderdon Named WIAC Diver Of The Week

Jacob ChadderdonUW-Oshkosh's Jacob Chadderdon (Sr. • Madison) was named by the WIAC as its Men's Diver of the Week for swimming and diving events held Oct. 13-19.

Chadderdon garnered the weekly prize after scoring 232.40 points to win the one-meter diving in a season-opening dual meet against UW-River Falls on Oct. 18.

Chadderdon's performance helped the Titans to a 148-129 victory over the Falcons.

Chadderdon has been selected WIAC Diver of the Week 10 times during his career.

Zangl Collects WIAC Swimmer Of The Week Award

Justin ZanglFollowing a strong season-opening performance, UW-Oshkosh's Justin Zangl (Sr. • Hartford) was named by the WIAC as its Men's Swimmer of the Week for swimming and diving meets held Oct. 13-19.

Zangl won three events to help UW-Oshkosh post a 148-129 victory over UW-River Falls on Oct. 18.

Zangl took top honors in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.17, the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:00.58 and the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:48.88.

It was the first WIAC Swimmer of the Week award for Zangl.

Titans Clip Falcons In Season Debut

Jon DudzinskiJustin ZanglJustin Zangl (Sr. • Hartford) won three events and Jon Dudzinski (Fr. • Ripon) captured two as the UW-Oshkosh men’s swimming and diving team notched a 148-129 victory over UW-River Falls on Saturday (Oct. 18) in River Falls.

Zangl tallied victories in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.17, the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:00.58 and the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:48.88 to pace the Titans.

Dudzinski had first-place performances in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.75 and in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.07. He also earned second place in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:30.58.

Other event champions for the Titans included Ryan Curley (Sr. • Milton) in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:33.07, Brian Markovich (Fr. • Colgate)20in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.16 and Jacob Chadderdon (Sr. • Madison) in the one-meter diving event with 232.40 points.

UW-Oshkosh posted second-place finishes with the efforts of Markovich in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:35.91, Jon Streich (Fr. • Hubertus) in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:52.90 and Mose Coffee (Fr. • Glendale) in the one-meter diving event with 200.20 points.

Matt Behnke (Sr. • Eden) earned second place on two occasions, in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.51 and in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:22.87.

The Titans’ third-place performances included Dan Johnson (Jr. • Anoka, Minn.) in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 13:15.07 and Ryan Elliott (Sr. • Manitowoc) in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:06.02.

Steve Schendt (Jr. • Janesville) turned in a trio of third-place results with his showings in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:08.09, the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:12.41 and the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:32.37.

Third-place results continued for UW-Oshkosh with John Gerrits (Fr. • Hubertus) in the one-meter diving event with 116.35 points and Kent Ludeman (Jr. • Cedarburg) in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:34.21. Elliott completed the Titans’ top-three finishes in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.79 and in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:23.73.
