Men's 1,500-Meter Run Recap
OSHKOSH, Wis. – After taking second place last year by a mere .46 of a second, senior Will Leer of Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (Calif.) dominated the field in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 3:53.13.

Making his move with three-quarters of a lap left, Leer sprinted out to a comfortable lead and coasted over the finish line to become the first national champion in the 1,500-meter run at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges.

Placing second was senior Davey Quinn from Carnegie Mellon University (Pa.) in a time of 3:54.49 ,while third-place went to sophomore Brian Butzler from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in a time of 3:55.23. It was the first All-America honor for both Quinn and Butzler in the 1,500-meter run.

Following in fourth-place was senior Ryan TerLouw from Hope College (Mich.) in a time of 3:55.77. It was the third All-America performance for TerLouw as he finished fifth in 2006 and seventh in 2007. Sophomore Brian McConnell from Elmhurst College (Ill.) finished in fifth-place in a time of 3:56.02.

Rounding out the All-America listings were senior Kyle Stangel from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a sixth-place time of 3:56.20, senior Mike Davitian from Williams College (Mass.) with a seventh-place time of 3:56.24 and senior Mike Flint from the Coast Guard Academy (Conn.) with a eighth-place time of 3:56.44. Davitian finished third in last year’s national championship.
