Men's Discus Recap |
OSHKOSH, Wis. – Continuing a long line of success in the throwing events for his school, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater junior Dan Hytinen captured the men’s discus title at the 2007 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
Hytinen, registering his winning throw
on his last attempt in the finals, won
with a moon toss of 178 -0, the best
effort in the NCAA Division III this
season. Hytinen is the third Warhawk
to gain a men’s individual throwing
national championship since 2003, joining
former standouts Ross Kapp and Jeremy
Wendt who won the hammer three times
from 2003 to 2006.
Mount Union College's (Ohio) Justin Rodhe, who had the best throw in the preliminaries at 168-4, took second. The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Bobby Riley ended third in 160-2.
