Women's Triple Jump Recap |
OSHKOSH, Wis. – City College of New York senior Alecia Watson successfully defended her NCAA Division III triple jump title, turning in a best effort of 39-10 3/4 at the national championship held at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.
Watson needed every bit of her second attempt and J.J. Keller Field record to hold off a pair of late charges. Williams College’s (Mass.) Caroline Williams popped a jump of 39-10 on her last attempt, while Megan Voiland of Augustana College (Ill.), trying to add to her pole vault title, stepped up on her last attempt, going 39 -8. Natalie Calderson of the University of Redlands (Calif.), a winner in the long jump, placed fourth with an effort of 38-11.
