Heavy snowfall in the Denver, Colo., area has grounded numerous air travelers, including the UW-Oshkosh women's basketball team that was scheduled to participate at the Pacific Lutheran University Classic on Friday and Saturday (Dec. 29-30) in Tacoma, Wash. The Titans left Oshkosh for the four-team tournament on Thursday (Dec. 28), but several feet of snow and hazardous conditions in Denver cancelled the team's flight from Milwaukee to Denver. The team was unable to acquire air transportation to the Tacoma area that bypassed Denver. Because UW-Oshkosh was unable to travel, the schedule for the Pacific Lutheran University Classic has changed. Instead of four games over two days, only two games will be played. Contests will be held Friday at 5 p.m. between George Fox University (Ore.) and Thompson Rivers University (British Columbia, Canada) and Saturday at 5 p.m. between Pacific Lutheran University and Thompson Rivers University. UW-Oshkosh (5-5) returns to action on Wednesday (Jan. 3) by hosting UW-Platteville (7-5) at 7 p.m. in Kolf Sports Center. |
