Bergesen, Lindberg Receive All-Academic Honors

Amanda BergesenJill LindbergUW-Oshkosh seniors Amanda Bergesen (Lake Geneva) and Jill Lindberg (Meridian, Idaho) have been named to the All-Academic Team by the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA).

Bergesen owns a 3.06 cumulate grade point average as a kinesiology major. Lindberg is majoring in biology and holds a 3.31 cumulative grade point average.

At the NCGA Championship held March 23-24 in Brockport, N.Y., Lindberg competed in two events. She posted a 27th-place score of 9.325 in the floor exercise and a 49th-place mark of 8.575 on the balance beam. Lindberg’s best showing of the year was a 9.55 floor-exercise tally at the Harley Davidson Invitational.

Bergesen performed only in the floor exercise this season. Her best result was a 9.05 at the Kentucky Classic on Jan. 7. She added two scores of 8.95 during February meets with UW-La Crosse and Hamline University.

A total of 40 student-athletes were selected for the All-Academic Team. The WIAC accounted for 16 of those women, including six from UW-La Crosse, three from both UW-Eau Claire and UW-Whitewater and two from UW-Stout. Ithaca College (N.Y.) also boasted a nation-high six choices.

Cattelino, Zubella Highlight Titans' NCGA Championship Performances

StNCGANatasha Cattelino (Fr. • Pleasant Prairie) and Abby Zubella (Jr. • Appleton) each posted an 18th-place finish to lead UW-Oshkosh’s individuals at the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championship on Friday and Saturday (March 23-24) in Brockport, N.Y.

Zubella, a national qualifier for the second straight year, scored 9.40 on the floor exercise for 18th. Cattelino matched that performance on the uneven bars with her score of 9.10.

Ashlan Millikan (Fr. • New Castle, Ind.) competed on the vault and booked a season-high tally of 9.375 for 27th place. UW-Oshkosh also had Jill Lindberg (Sr. • Meridian, Idaho) gain a 27th-place result in the floor exercise at 9.325. Lindberg participated on the beam as well, placing 49th with a score of 8.575.

The fifth and final Titan at the meet was Leane Blais (Fr. • Salisbury, N.C.). She compiled 8.85 points to list 35th in the bars standings. UW-La Crosse’s Christa Booman won the bars event with a 9.55.

Jessica Bolduc (Ithaca College, N.Y.) captured the floor exercise with her score of 9.675. SUNY-Cortland’s Marissa Goodstein took first on the vault at 9.65 and SUNY-Brockport’s Elizabeth Levy prevailed in the all-around at 37.65. Elise Konikoff (Cortland) and Mary Kate Young (UW-Whitewater) shared the balance beam title with scores of 9.75.

The national championship was shared by Brockport and UW-Whitewater after both teams marked 188.05 points. UW-La Crosse placed third at 187.20, followed by Cortland in fourth at 185.55, UW-Eau Claire fifth at 183.70 and Ithaca College sixth at 182.65.

Five Titans Invited To NCGA Championship

StNCGAUW-Oshkosh will be represented by five women at this weekend's National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championship in Brockport, N.Y. The champion in the team and individual all-around competition will be determined on Friday (March 23) and in the four individual events on Saturday (March 24).

Receiving at-large invitations to the meet are Leane Blais (Fr. • Salisbury, N.C.), Natasha Cattelino (Fr. • Pleasant Prairie), Jill Lindberg (Sr. • Meridian, Idaho), Ashlan Millikan (Fr. • New Castle, Ind.) and Abby Zubella (Jr. • Appleton). The five selections are UW-Oshkosh's most since having six in 2008. UW-Oshkosh captured NCGA titles in 1989 and 2007.

Blais will perform on the uneven bars, where she is ranked 16th in the country with an average score of 9.263. She posted a season-best score of 9.55 during meets with Winona State University (Minn.) on Jan. 31 and UW-Eau Claire on Feb. 24.

Also participating on the uneven bars is Cattelino. She earned 10th place with a score of 9.15 at the NCGA West Regional held March 3. Cattelino’s best mark of 9.175 came at the Harley Davidson Invitational on Feb. 17.

Lindberg is a national qualifier on the balance beam for the third consecutive season. She took 33rd place with a score of 9.20 a year ago. This year, Lindberg's best score was a 9.325 against Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) on Jan. 21. Lindberg also will compete in the floor exercise, where she tallied a season-best 9.55 points at the Harley Davidson Invitational.

Millikan will compete for the Titans on the vault. She has scored a 9.10 or higher seven times this year, including a season-best 9.35 at the Kentucky Classic on Jan. 7.

Zubella is a two-time national qualifier in the floor exercise. She finished 10th at this year's NCGA West Regional with a score of 9.40. Zubella’s top score this season is a 9.675 from the Harley Davidson Invitational.

The top 12 gymnasts in each event will receive All-America honors. UW-La Crosse is the four-time defending team champion.

Cattelino, Zubella Lead Titans At WIAC Championship

UW-La Crosse scored 187.70 points to capture its first league title since 2009 and 21st overall. Two-time defending champion UW-Whitewater finished second in the eight-team meet with 185.50 points, while UW-Eau Claire placed third with 183.025 and Winona State University (Minn.) fourth with 181.30.

Rounding out the remaining list of teams in the standings were fifth-place UW-Stout with 180.65 points, sixth-place Hamline University (Minn.) with 180.60, seventh-place UW-Oshkosh with 176.175 and eighth-place Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) with 172.45. The Titans also finished seventh at last year's meet.

UW-Oshkosh calculated its overall team score by counting 45.025 points in the floor exercise, 44.925 on the vault, 43.65 on the uneven bars and 42.575 on the balance beam.

Zubella recorded UW-Oshkosh's highest individual score with her 10th-place mark of 9.40 points in the floor exercise. Courtney Benson of Hamline University won the event with a score of 9.65.

UW-Oshkosh had a pair of top 20 finishers on the uneven bars as Cattelino placed 10th with 9.15 points and Leah Herchenbach (Fr. • Libertyville, Ill.) 18th with 8.95. Christa Booman of UW-La Crosse took first place with a score of 9.70.

On the balance beam, UW-Oshkosh's Jill Lindberg (Sr. • Meridian, Idaho) finished17th with a score 9.175. The Titans also had Stephanie Gorman (So. • Belvidere, Ill.) place 18th on the vault with a mark of 9.25. Allyse Dieringer of UW-Whitewater won the balance beam and Katherine Prouty of UW-Stout the vault with scores of 9.60 and 9.65, respectively.

In the all-around competition, Herchenbach compiled 34.275 points for 13th place. Morgan Shene of UW-La Crosse earned the all-around title with 37.925 points.

The top six finishers in each event secured All-Conference recognition.

The WIAC named UW-Stout's Heather Harmeyer as its recipient of the Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award.

The WIAC Championship also served as the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) West Regional. Teams advancing to the NCGA Championship that will be held March 23-24 in Brockport, N.Y., are UW-La Crosse, UW-Whitewater and UW-Eau Claire.

Titans To Compete At WIAC Gymnastics Championship

UW-Whitewater aims for a third consecutive title when it competes at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women's Gymnastics Championship on Friday (March 3) in Eau Claire. The 39th edition of the league championship begins at 4 p.m. in UW-Eau Claire's McPhee Physical Education Center.

UW-Whitewater claimed its second championship in program history last season with 189.275 points. UW-La Crosse finished second with 186.325 points, UW-Stout third with 184.15, Winona State University (Minn.) fourth with 183.95 and Hamline University (Minn.) fifth with 182.775. UW-Oshkosh, which has won the meet 14 times, placed seventh with 181.575 points.

The conference meet also serves as the West Region qualifier for the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championship. That meet will be held March 23-24 in Brockport, N.Y. The top three teams from the West Regional, along with several qualified gymnasts, will advance to the NCGA Championship.

This year's WIAC Championship features two individuals who are striving to earn a second league title. Winona State University 's Jena Jondahl was victorious on the vault at last year's meet, while UW-Eau Claire's Danielle Schulzetenberg claimed the balance beam at the 2010 event.

The top six finishers in each event at the league championship earn all-conference accolades.

Four teams are ranked among the top 10 in the country based on the GymInfo rankings distributed Feb. 27. UW-La Crosse is ranked sixth, while UW-Whitewater is listed eighth, Winona State University ninth and UW-Stout 10th.

This year's WIAC Championship features student-athletes from an astonishing 27 different states and one from Quebec, Canada. The breakdown by state is Minnesota 69, Wisconsin 21, Illinois 15, Missouri 6, Colorado 5, Tennessee 4, Georgia, Ohio and Oregon 3, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska and New Hampshire 2 and Alaska, California, Florida, Hawaii, Kansas, Mississippi, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota and Utah 1.

Five Titans Appear On WIAC All-Time Women's Gymnastics Team

Five former Titans are among the 17 women named to the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (WIAC) Gymnastics All-Time Team. The league selected 24 individuals for its centennial anniversary celebration.

UW-Oshkosh had Tiffany Barden (1996-99), Lynnda Hahn (1990-93), Mary Leivian (1986-89), Debbie Lindemer (1983-86) and Amy Webb (1990-93) chosen on the squad. Each of these women captured a national title during their time with the Titans.

Barden (Plover • Stevens Point High School) gathered eight All-America awards and seven WIAC titles. She won the balance beam at the 1996 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championship, while placing second on the apparatus in 1999. Her list of WIAC titles includes all-around victories in 1997 and 1999.

Hahn won her lone NCGA title on the balance beam in 1990. Her 13 All-America awards also include a second-place finish in the floor exercise at the 1991 NCGA Championship. Hahn (Brookfield • Brookfield Central High School) captured five WIAC titles, including the all-around and vault twice each.

Leivian is UW-Oshkosh's most decorated gymnast. Her resume is highlighted by nine National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) titles, three NCGA championships, two National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II crowns and two United States Gymnastics Federation (USGF) gold medals. Following a victory in the all-around competition at the 1986 NCAA Division II Championship, Leivian's inaugural collegiate season ended with an appearance at the NCAA Division I Championship in Gainesville, Fla. Leivian (Oshkosh • Oshkosh North High School) captured 14 WIAC titles, including the all-around competition four times and the floor exercise, uneven bars and vault three times each.

Lindemer (Oshkosh • Oshkosh North High School) won four NCAA Division II All-America awards, including two with her first-place finish on the vault and in the all-around competition in 1984. Lindemer's victory in the all-around competition that season qualified her for the NCAA Division I Championship in Los Angeles, Calif. Lindemer dominated the WIAC Championship from 1983-85. She won nine league titles, including three in both the all-around competition and floor exercise.

Webb (Port Washington • Port Washington High School) is a three-time NCGA champion. She defended her title in the floor exercise and won the vault at the 1983 NCGA Championship. Webb acquired WIAC titles in the floor exercise in 1982 and 1983.

From 1983 to 1999, all five women played a part in UW-Oshkosh winning one NAIA title, one NCGA title and 10 WIAC championships.

UW-La Crosse accounted for eight gymnasts on the all-time team. Eagles named to the squad were Tricia Adkins (1991-94), Gabi Hooper (2006-10), Lisa Kartman (1983-86), Kim MacKrille (1987-91), Becky McDonnell (1998-2001), Keri Motz (1997-2000), Nina Schubert (2002-05) and Jennifer Houle (2003-06).

The remaining four honorees were Naomi DeLara (2008-11) and Meghan Hargens (2007-10) of UW-Stout, Merilee Healy (1992-95) of UW-River Falls and Justine Weyer (2008-10) of UW-Whitewater.

The WIAC chose UW-La Crosse's Barbara Gibson (1986-present) as its all-time coach.

The WIAC is recognizing the outstanding individuals from the league's 100-year history. All-time teams are being selected in those men's and women's sports that have been classified as "championship" sports at some point since 1913. Additional teams will be released on a weekly basis throughout much of the 2011-12 academic year.

All-time team members will receive certificates from the conference and it is hoped that most, if not all, of the recipients will be in attendance or represented at the WIAC Centennial Banquet in Madison on Aug. 4, 2012.

Titans' Second-Highest Score Of Season Not Enough To Defeat Blugolds

The Blugolds are currently ranked eighth in the NCAA Division III by the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA).

Leane Blais (Fr. • Salisbury, N.C.) was the victorious Titan with her bars score of 9.55. Natasha Cattelino (Fr. • Pleasant Prairie) followed in second place at 9.10, and Ashlan Millikan (Fr. • New Castle, Ind.) booked a third-place tally of 9.05.

The other third-place result for UW-Oshkosh came from Abby Zubella (Jr. • Appleton), who compiled 9.35 points in the floor exercise. Stephanie Gorman (So. • Belvidere, Ill.) then contributed fourth-place standings with her scores of 9.275 on the balance beam and 9.10 on the vault.

Notching 45.225 points, the Titans marked their best balance beam total of the season. UW-Oshkosh added figures of 44.625 in the floor exercise, 44.525 on the vault and 44.200 on the bars.

UW-Eau Claire’s Danielle Schulzetenberg dominated the night by winning four events. She posted 9.60 points in the floor exercise, 9.575 on the balance beam, 9.325 on the vault and 36.750 for the all-around.

The Titans’ Leah Herchenbach (Fr. • Libertyville, Ill.) listed third in the all-around event with 35.950 points.

Next Saturday in Eau Claire, UW-Oshkosh competes at the WIAC Championship, which also serves as the NCGA West Regional Qualifier. Action gets underway at 4 p.m.

Titans Record A Pair Of Season Bests At Harley Davidson Invitational

Two-time WIAC champion UW-Whitewater won the four-team meet with 186.475 points, while UW-Stout finished second with 185.475, Hamline University (Minn.) third with 180.5 and UW-Oshkosh fourth with 178.65.

UW-Whitewater entered the meet ranked sixth in the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) by GymInfo, while UW-Stout listed 10th, UW-Oshkosh 11th and Hamline University 12th.

UW-Oshkosh's overall value also included a season-best team score of 45.80 in the floor exercise competition. The Titans had two of the event's top-nine finishers as Abby Zubella (Jr. • Appleton) finished fifth with 9.675 points and Jill Lindberg (Sr. • Meridian, Idaho) ninth with 9.55. UW-Stout's Brittany DeZiel won the event with a score of 9.725.

The Titans owned three of the top finishers on the uneven bars as Leane Blais (Fr. • Salisbury, N.C.) placed third with 9.25 points, Ashlan Millikan (Fr. • New Castle, Ind.) fifth with 9.20 and Natasha Cattelino (Fr. • Pleasant Prairie) seventh with 9.175. UW-Whitewater's Katie Thompson took first place on the apparatus with a score of 9.40.

Leah Herchenbach (Fr. • Libertyville, Ill.) contributed a pair of top-seven finishes by placing sixth on the balance beam with 9.30 points and seventh in the all-around competition with 35.35. The Titans also had Lindberg finish seventh on the balance beam with a score of 9.25.

On the vault, UW-Oshkosh received 10th-place scores of 9.10 from Cattelino and Millikan.

Katherine Prouty of UW-Stout was the winner in the all-around competition with 37.975 points. She also tallied a first-place score of 9.675 on the vault. UW-Whitewater's Allyse Dieringer won the balance beam competition with a score of 9.625.

UW-Oshkosh travels to ninth-ranked UW-Eau Claire on Friday (Feb. 24).

Third-Ranked Eagles Acquire Win Over Titans

Lindberg and UW-La Crosse's Taylor Cochran tied for first place on the balance beam with scores of 9.175. UW-Oshkosh's Leah Herchenbach (Fr. • Libertyville, Ill.) placed third with a score of 9.00.

Herchenbach also finished second in the all-around competition with 35.00 points and fifth on the uneven bars with 8.55. UW-La Crosse's Morgan Shene won both categories with 36.275 points in the all-around competition and 9.30 on the uneven bars.

UW-Oshkosh had two other second-place efforts as Leane Blais (Fr. • Salisbury, N.C.) compiled 9.275 points on the uneven bars and Abby Zubella (Jr. • Appleton) 9.25 in the floor exercise. UW-La Crosse's Jenna Swail took first place in the floor exercise with a score of 9.35.

UW-La Crosse, which entered the meet ranked third in the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) by GymInfo, owned the top-four finishers on the vault. Swails won the event with a score of 9.35, while UW-Oshkosh's Ashlan Millikan (Fr. • New Castle, Ind.) placed fifth with a value of 9.10.

The Titans also had Natasha Cattelino (Fr. • Pleasant Prairie) finish fourth on the uneven bars with a score of 8.60 and Stephanie Gorman (So. • Belvidere, Ill.) fifth in the floor exercise with a mark of 9.05.

UW-Oshkosh, ranked 11th in the country, competes against 12th-ranked Hamline University (Minn.), 10th-ranked UW-Stout and sixth-ranked UW-Whitewater on Friday (Feb. 17) in Milwaukee.

Titans, Eagles Set For Nationally Ranked Showdown

UW-Oshkosh faces a stiff women's gymnastics challenge when it hosts four-time defending national champion UW-La Crosse on Friday (Feb. 10) at 6:30 p.m. in Kolf Sports Center.

UW-La Crosse averages 182.955 points per meet to rank third in the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) by GymInfo. UW-Oshkosh ranks 11th in the country with an average meet score of 175.845.

These two squads captured every WIAC championship from 1978 to 2009. UW-La Crosse won 13 consecutive league titles from 1997-2009. This year’s Eagles have won their last two meets – the John Zuerlein Invitational on Jan. 27 and the Gershon/McClellan Invitational on Feb. 3.

At the Gershon/McClellan Invitational, UW-La Crosse posted a season-best score of 184.425. The Eagles obtained 47.15 of those points on the balance beam, including a winning tally of 9.60 from Rachel Budelier.

UW-Oshkosh is coming off a 176.25-175.85 victory over Hamline University (Minn.) on Feb. 4. The Titans also excelled on the beam with 44.85 points. Leah Herchenbach (Fr. • Libertyville, Ill.) placed second on the apparatus with 9.45 points, while Jill Lindberg (Sr. • Meridian, Idaho) finished fourth at 9.175.

UW-Oshkosh's other victory this season came by a 176.40-168.20 score over Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) on Jan. 21. In that victory, Leane Blais (Fr. • Salisbury, N.C.) won the uneven bars, Lindberg the balance beam and Herchenbach the all-around competition.

UW-La Crosse has several gymnasts ranked among the nation's elite. Christa Booman ranks second on the uneven bars with an average score of 9.563 and fifth in the all-around competition at 36.958. The Eagles ' Morgan Shene ranks third on the balance beam and fourth on the uneven bars with average scores of 9.442 and 9.400, respectively.

Blais owns UW-Oshkosh's highest national ranking. She rates ninth on the uneven bars with an average score of 9.260.

Titans Edge Pipers

Hamline University owned the winner in each of the five individual categories, but UW-Oshkosh slipped past the Pipers by having five of the top seven finishers on the balance beam and five of the top eight finishers on both the vault and in the floor exercise.

UW-Oshkosh scored a season-high 44.85 points on the balance beam, including 9.45 by second-place finisher Leah Herchenbach (Fr. • Libertyville, Ill.). The Titans also had Jill Lindberg (Sr. • Meridian, Idaho) rank fourth with 9.175 points, Abby Zubella (Jr. • Appleton) fifth with 9.10 and Leane Blais (Fr. • Salisbury, N.C.) sixth with 8.625.

UW-Oshkosh totaled 44.725 points on the vault as Stephanie Gorman (So. • Belvidere, Ill.) placed second with 9.05, Herchenbach and Lindberg both fourth with 8.95 and Natasha Cattelino (Fr. • Pleasant Prairie) sixth with 8.90.

The Titans tallied 44.575 points in the floor exercise as Zubella finished second with 9.325, Lindberg third with 9.00, Amanda Bergesen (Sr. • Lake Geneva) fourth with 8.95 and Gorman and Herchenbach both fifth with 8.65.

UW-Oshkosh also had Blais finish second on the uneven bars with 9.05 points, Herchenbach fifth with 8.625 and Heather Kill (Fr. • Crystal Lake, Ill.) sixth with 8.425.

Hamline University's Courtney Benson earned four victories in the meet by compiling 37.375 points in the all-around competition, 9.55 on the balance beam, 9.20 on the uneven bars and 9.40 in the floor exercise. The Pipers' Jacklyn Clement won the vault with a score of 9.325.

Warriors Fend Off Titans

Jondahl recorded winning scores of 9.225 on the balance beam, 9.475 on the vault and 36.725 in the all-around competition. She also finished third in the floor exercise with a score of 9.30 and fifth on the uneven bars with a mark of 8.725.

UW-Oshkosh, which compiled its highest team score of the season, was led by the first-place efforts of Leane Blais (Fr. • Salisbury, N.C.) and Abby Zubella (Jr. • Appleton). Blais won the uneven bars with 9.55 points and Zubella the floor exercise with 9.45.

The Titans received second-place scores of 9.325 in the floor exercise from Jill Lindberg (Sr. • Meridian, Idaho) and 9.15 on the uneven bars from Natasha Cattelino (Fr. • Pleasant Prairie). Lindberg also ranked fifth on the balance beam with a figure of 9.075.

Titans Trounce Gusties

Leane BlaisLeah HerchenbachJill LindbergUW-Oshkosh swept the top-four finishes on the uneven bars and the top-three places on the balance beam as it rolled to a 176.40-168.20 women's gymnastics victory over Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) on Saturday (Jan. 21) in St. Peter, Minn.

The Titans compiled 44.575 of their team points on the uneven bars. Leane Blais (Fr. • Salisbury, N.C.) won the event with a score of 9.45, while Natasha Cattelino (Fr. • Pleasant Prairie) ranked second at 9.05, Leah Herchenbach (Fr. • Libertyville, Ill.) third at 8.95 and Ashlan Millikan (Fr. • New Castle, Ind.) fourth at 8.90.

UW-Oshkosh added another 43.60 points on the balance beam, including 9.325 by first-place finisher Jill Lindberg (Sr. • Meridian, Idaho). The Titans also had Stephanie Gorman (So. • Belvidere, Ill.) list second and Herchenbach third with scores of 9.20 and 8.775, respectively.

Herchenbach won the all-around competition with 34.925 points. Her value also included a sixth-place score of 9.05 on the vault.

UW-Oshkosh owned three of the top five marks in the floor exercise as Abby Zubella (Jr. • Appleton) finished first with 9.175 points, Lindberg second at 9.125 and Millikan fifth at 8.45.

The Titans had three other significant finishes on the vault as Millikan placed second with 9.175 points, Blais fourth with 9.10 and Khrystyna Lychagina (So. • River Grove, Ill.) sixth with 9.05. Gustavus Adolphus College's Samantha Opsahl won the event with a score of 9.30.

UW-Oshkosh travels to Winona State University (Minn.) on Jan. 31.

Titans Suffer Narrow Loss To Two-Time Defending Conference Champion

Leane BlaisJill LindbergAshlan MillikanLeane Blais (Fr. • Salisbury, N.C.) earned the highest score on both the balance beam and uneven bars as the UW-Oshkosh women's gymnastics team dropped a 176.70-174.425 decision to UW-Whitewater on Saturday (Jan. 14) in Kolf Sports Center.

Scoring a 9.20, Blais defeated 10 other competitors on the uneven bars. She then posted a score of 9.35 on the balance beam to beat 10 other participants. UW-Oshkosh's Jill Lindberg (Sr. • Meridian, Idaho) finished second to Blais on the balance beam with a mark of 9.05.

Ashlan Millikan (Fr. • New Castle, Ind.) contributed a pair of third-place finishes for the Titans. She earned 9.125 points on the vault and 8.90 on the uneven bars.

UW-Oshkosh's Leah Herchenbach (Fr. • Libertyville, Ill.) and Lindsay Hermsen (Jr. • Green Bay) both compiled third- and fourth-place results. Herchenbach took third in the all-around competition with 34.775 points and fourth on the uneven bars with 8.80. Hermsen had a third-place score of 9.125 on the vault and a fourth-place figure of 8.55 on the balance beam.

Abby Zubella (Jr. • Appleton) was the Titans' top finisher in the floor exercise. She placed third in the event with a score of 9.25 while adding a sixth-place mark of 8.40 on the balance beam.

UW-Oshkosh's Amanda Bergesen (Sr. • Lake Geneva) added a sixth-place score of 8.775 in the floor exercise.

UW-Whitewater, the two-time defending WIAC champion, owned the winner in three categories. Kaitlyn Weber won the all-around competition with 35.25 points and CiCi Talcott the floor exercise with a mark of 9.425. Kathryn Thompson and Siri Wischmann shared the top listing on the vault with a score of 9.375.

UW-Oshkosh meets Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) next Saturday (Jan. 21) in St. Peter, Minn.

Titans List Fourth Against NCAA Division I Squads

The University of Oklahoma won the meet at 195.875 to defeat two other NCAA Division I teams. The University of Kentucky came in second with a mark of 194.325, followed by Bowling Green State University (Ohio) in third at 188.925.

Leane Blais (Fr. • Salisbury, N.C.) led the Titans with a pair of 16th-place finishes. She compiled scores of 9.05 on the uneven parallel bars and 9.00 on the balance beam. UW-Oshkosh had two other solid showings on the beam, with Jill Lindberg (Sr. • Meridian, Idaho) placing 17th at 8.95 and Leah Herchenbach (Fr. • Libertyville, Ill.) earning 19th with an 8.925.

Titans recording an individual finish of 17th were Ashlan Millikan (Fr. • New Castle, Ind.) and Abby Zubella (Jr. • Appleton). Millikan counted a parallel bars mark of 8.90, while Zubella posted 9.375 points in the floor exercise.

UW-Oshkosh compiled team scores of 45.30 on the vault, 44.70 in the floor exercise, 43.475 on the balance beam and 41.25 on the bars. Millikan rounded out the individual results with her 9.35 for 18th place on the vault.

Oklahoma, which placed third at the 2011 NCAA Division I Championship, totaled team marks of 49.30 on the vault, 48.925 on the bars, 48.90 in the floor exercise and 48.75 on the beam.

Kentucky finished 0.55 points behind after totaling 49.025 on the vault, 48.30 on the beam and 48.50 on both the bars and floor exercise. The Wildcats were ranked 23rd in the GymInfo Preseason Coaches Poll.

Listing third, Bowling Green State finished with team figures of 48.50 on the vault, 48.425 in the floor exercise, 46.525 on the beam and 45.475 on the bars.

The Titans begin their league schedule against UW-Whitewater on Saturday (Jan. 14) in Kolf Sports Center.
