After breakfast this morning we took off toward another volcano. Once we reached the volcano, the sight was amazing! The crater was filled with what looked like a lake but it was bright green. Manfred explained to us that the green color was due to the sulfur that the volcano was emitting. After observing this crater we walked to around an old crater with just volcanic sediment left. We wrote OSHKOSH in the sediment and obviously had to take a team picture by it! As we headed towards the microbus we ran into a strange little animal, part of the raccoon family. Manfred, full of so many fun facts, told us that this particular animal eats tarantulas! After the animal scampered off, we made our way onto the microbus and took off for the 2nd highest point in Costa Rica. What a beautiful view it was from up there!
After making our decent we visited a church in town. This church had incredible architectural features, full of arches and paintings. Outside of the church there was a fountain in which holy water poured from. Once we all had a chance to take a stroll through the church and view the fountain we headed back to our hotel and started thinking about our game that was later that night.

Today’s weather was beautiful and we were thankful that the rain had held off, until we got to the field. Just as we were pulling up the clouds, once again, rolled in and it started to rain. We warmed up in the rain, but by game time the rain had stopped and it was a beautiful night. We started off the game up 1-0 but, the San Jose team came back and the half ended 4-1. Though we were down, we came out strong in the second half. The final score was 5-3. Although we lost, we always take positive aspects away from each game. It’s not everyday that you get to play the game you love in a foreign country so beautiful! Once we reached our hotel we ate dinner all together and had a nice RELAXING night!
