BLUGOLDS TAKE DOWN THE TITANSEAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire wrestling team won their third consecutive dual match by taking down UW-Oshkosh 20-12 here tonight at the McPhee Phy Ed Center. Chris Muller (Jr.-Rochester, MN/John Marshall) started things off with a 13-8 victory over Mike Sebasta at 157 pounds. Muller improved his record to 20-9 on the season with the win. Travis Buchholz (Sr.-Fall Creek) tallied three takedowns in defeating Jason Gruszynski 8-4 at 165. In the upper weights, Adam Kolo (Jr.-Vespers/Wis. Rapids Lincoln) improved to 15-2 with a 12-4 major decision victory over Jed Lechleitner at 197. Nick Campbell (So.-Maple Grove, MN) escaped the grasp of Dustin Drexel at Heavyweight in a 30 second overtime to escape with a 3-2 decision. After a double forfeit at 125, Davey Starks (Jr.-Stoughton) defeated Tim DeMars 6-1 at 133. The eighth-ranked wrestler at 125 in the latest Brute-Adidas Division III National Individual Rankings, improved his record to 18-8 on the season. Matt Renkas (Fr.-Wabeno) overcame a two-point deficit in the third period by scoring a takedown and earning three near-fall points to defeat Mike Uyeda 11-8.
